We brought the bag to the Gucci boutique where I purchased it at, and the sales rep said, "the canvas bags are prone to wear and breakdown, and the breakdown of the bag after 6 months is considered NORMAL WEAR." Careful with repairing soles. Not sure of others experience but I had a pair of loafer hard bottom soles replaced in 2006 at the Sommerset Collection Gucci store in Michigan for aprox. 0 and the replacement soles no longer had the Gucci stamp or logo. Just plain smooth bottom. I was disappointed. So I have an older black Gucci monogram handbag that unfortunately has become sun-faded . I use it as my everyday bag, and despite the sun-fading it is in great condition. I know some companies like Chanel for example will re-dye/refurb bags (less than 5 years old).
