I think the original movement in my watch was faulty - it just drained batteries. I got one replaced by Breitling inside 12 months under warranty, but I never got more than 18 months out of a battery. I ended up using a local jeweller to replace the battery and they fucked it up by using a cheap battery which leaked. I can see pros and cons on both. Aerospace is much lighter, slightly easier to see at a glance the time, brighter digital display than B1 better water resistance (10 atm against 5) . On the other hand B1 is "more of a watch", it has more functions (i.e. the second alarm tied to the second time zone - useful if you travel a lot, UTC time etc.).
They both house Breitling SuperQuartz movements, and so are about as accurate of a watch as you can buy. Basically, you will be replacing the battery before you will need to reset your watch (in 4 years you will be at most 1 minute off). The weight of the watch is there, but being Breitlings lightest model at 38g (without bracelet) you hardly notice you're wearing anything. The Aerospace Avantage at 10.4mm is also the thinnest gents wristwatch Breitling produce, great for wearing under a shirt cuff. Breitling has also continued rolling out their in-house caliber B01 movement that features in many of their modern chronographs. In 2017, they partnered with Tudor to exchange these B01 movements for the use of Tudor’s in-house MT5612 three-hand movement. The B01 movement runs with very balanced rate results in various situations: on the timing machine, on the wrist or when the chronograph is engaged. The B01 is very reliable in this regard. Bright yellow on the underside of the leather strap underscores the vintage look.
