For a watch on the dressier side a matching date wheel is a good thing, for a sports utility watch you want legibility, so DayDate would be great if all models matched their dials, not so much the generic sports watches.
But upon returning home, and comparing pictures it is clearly a different colour dial. The old one is dark grey with white lettering, the new one is silver with gold lettering. I will be in contact with the AD in the morning.

I am specifically interested in what the correct date wheel for a 5.3 serial (1977, I assume) should look like.
