M7 by Yves Saint Laurent is a Oriental Woody fragrance for men. M7 was launched in 2002. M7 was created by Jacques Cavallier Belletrud and Alberto Morillas. Top notes are Rosemary, Mandarin Orange and Bergamot; middle notes are Agarwood (Oud) and Vetiver; base notes are Amber and Musk. But Yves Saint Laurent decided to bring it back to life through its La Collection editions, this time called M7 Oud Absolu. Here there is some confusion because the perfume went through yet another change within a few years after this release.
Dark, resinous, and powerful, in terms of intensity, YSL M7 lives up to the hype that it's built as a bygone fragrance from the Tom Ford era of YSL. Seemingly a mix of oud, incense, and resin, but nothing too well-defined, lending credence to its superb blending. I actually quite enjoy this one; more than the regular M7, and I used to own the 3 (or 4?) ingredient version, 2002 batch code or something. M7 Fresh is good stuff.

My fragrance review of this 2004 release and now discontinued gem by YSL. M7 Fresh is a light take on oud and perfect for the office.
